Here we go. Let’s check in.

I’ve been wanting to go back to school for the longest time. I thought one day I would do it, but I never acted on it—until I saw UC Davis’ Food and Agriculture Industry Immersion program and decided to apply.

Now I’m living that version of myself I used to dream about. I just wish I had known earlier. I just wish I had acted on it sooner.

One thing that truly surprised me about UC Davis is that it’s a research powerhouse.

For me, the biggest part is doing this for myself—and knowing that I’m doing it for myself. Getting my master’s degree is something I’ve always wanted to achieve. Staying in that mindset has helped me remain disciplined, determined and focused throughout my academic journey.

I underestimated Davis. But once I got here, I realized how close it is to San Francisco—just about an hour and a half drive. I go most weekends to meet startup founders, connect with CEOs and learn what they’re building.

That kind of access is a real advantage—and I’m so happy to be here.
