Two Esteemed Professors Named Glock Chairs in Management
Prasad Naik and Greta Hsu appointed faculty chairs funded by Miriam Glock

Two internationally renowned senior faculty members at the UC Davis Graduate School of Management—Professors Prasad Naik and Greta Hsu—have been appointed to prestigious endowed faculty chairs effective July 1, 2025.
In 2001, Miriam Glock established the Robert W. Glock Chair in Management in memory of her husband, honoring his distinguished career in business and finance in the U.S. Army and at UC Davis. Later, through her estate, Miriam funded a second faculty chair, the Robert W. and Miriam R. Glock Chair in Management.
These endowed chairs play a vital role in the School’s mission by helping recruit, retain and recognize exceptional faculty leaders.
Professor Prasad Naik – Robert W. Glock Chair in Management
A recognized trailblazer in marketing, Professor Prasad Naik joined the Graduate School of Management nearly three decades ago after earning his Ph.D. from the University of Florida, Gainesville. Since then, he has published more than 50 articles in top-tier journals and delivered over 100 invited research seminars at universities worldwide.
Naik’s expertise lies in building models that help managers maximize profit by optimizing and allocating marketing budgets. He has successfully applied these models in consulting engagements for corporations in sales and brand management.
“I’m deeply honored by this recognition and profoundly grateful to my mentors, colleagues, coauthors, students, and the broader academic community,” Naik said. “Your support and collaboration have not only shaped my journey in the pursuit of knowledge but also helped me discover my purpose: to transform the thinking and practice of Marketing.”
“This appointment reinforces my commitment to advancing research, inspiring students, mentoring future coauthors, and contributing to the vibrant intellectual community at UC Davis.”

Professor Greta Hsu - Robert W. & Miriam R. Glock Chair in Management
A leading scholar in organizational behavior, Professor Greta Hsu joined the Graduate School of Management in 2004 after earning her Ph.D. from Stanford University. She began her academic career studying high-tech startups, focusing on how founding conditions shape long-term growth trajectories.
Her research spans a wide range of industries—including film, wine, cannabis and artificial intelligence— using broad organizational theories to explore how market categories are socially constructed and evolve over time.
Earlier this summer, Hsu was named the Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs at the GSM, where she oversees the launch of UC Davis’s first undergraduate business major as well as the technology management and accounting minors.
“I’m grateful to be named the Robert W. Glock and Miriam R. Glock Chair in Management,” said Hsu.
“I appreciate the generosity of the late Robert and Miriam Glock in supporting faculty research at the UC Davis Graduate School of Management, and the encouragement and support of my colleagues. It’s a privilege to contribute to our school’s mission through this role.”
