Jatin Patel MSBA 27

I spent two-plus years living in spreadsheets: tracking inventory, chasing vendors and forecasting sprint capacity for clients in London. Eventually I admitted I was doing analytics with duct tape.

Davis's MSBA is the proper toolkit: machine learning, forecasting and a practicum where the problems have real stakes. The STEM designation is a bonus, because I like my plans to have backup plans. I joined DSAC so you can decide with better intel than I had. Ask me anything.

Student Leadership and Experience

  • Directors' Student Advisory Committee (DSAC) Member: Student voice for the MSBA program on curriculum, careers, community, and care. I'm the person who gets to say "students are asking about this."
  • Volunteer, Utsav Foundation (2020-present): Food and clothing drives for underprivileged communities. Six years in, I'm still showing up and still carrying boxes.
  • International Academic Exchange, Alba Graduate Business School, Athens: Worked on cross-cultural project teams and built the feasibility study for an ESG-aligned hydroponics startup. I learned that "on time" means something different in every country.
  • Organizing Team, TOW Events and GLS University Clubs (2018-2021): Helped run campus events as an undergrad. Proof I was doing operations before I knew it was a career.

Fun Facts

  • My degrees have passport stamps. I've studied in India, the UK, Greece and now California. I'm fluent in "which country does the date go first in" and I'm still not sure if I'm right.
  • My gym routine is tracked better than most companies track revenue. I ran a fitness blog as a live analytics experiment and grew engagement 40%, so yes, I A/B test my workouts. My biceps are still in the pilot phase.
